The problem is well-known and still not perfectly solved: dirt accumulates on the diamond of the pick-up system and this reduces its scanning capability. The more dirt and dust accumulates, the more urgent cleaning becomes. The special brush from Martina Schöner is the perfect tool for this. It has washable white brush hairs that are just stiff enough to scrape off dirt well and at the same time flexible enough not to bend the needle carrier. This works equally well when dry or wet with needle cleaner. The rounded side of the brush is used to sweep from back to front. The bevelled brush side is used to clean the diamond laterally from left and right.

For the best possible inspection of the needle, the special magnifying glass from L'Art du Son with LED illumination is recommended.
