L'Art du Son CD-DVD cleaner and conditioner is suitable for all types of 12cm polycarbonate discs (except SHM discs). Whether it is a CD, DVD, Hybrid SACD, Blu-ray or even CD-R, spray L'Art du Son undiluted directly onto the surface. Then use your fingers to spread the spray over the front and back of the disc so that a thin film covers the entire surface. Then wipe with a soft, lint-free cloth, or even better, a paper tissue.
The dry CD is characterised by a much more natural sound image with improved naturalness and more stable localisation. Everything seems much more harmonious and, in a positive sense, less digital. With video media such as DVDs, the result is better depth of field, increased contrast and less picture noise. Red colours in particular appear more vibrant and natural. The effect is the same whether you use analogue or digital cables. If you are using CD-Rs, you should treat them with L'Art du Son before burning. Please do not use on self-printed CD labels, as colour changes may occur.
The spray acts on the plastic surface of the disc and changes the texture of the surface. This allows the laser to shine through the protective layer onto the reflective layer with less irritation and therefore read the data more accurately. A single treatment is sufficient.
One bottle lasts for about 300 discs. L'Art du Son CD-DVD Cleaner is non-flammable, contains very small amounts of alcohol and is non-toxic. As with the LP cleaner, it should be shaken before use to mix the ingredients.

Wer die Reinigung einer CD grundsätzlich für ausgemachten Quatsch für Leute hält, die sich bestenfalls von der Zubehörindustrie veräppeln lassen und im schlimmsten Fall unter einer speziellen Ausprägung von Waschzwang leiden, dem sei gesagt: Jede CD oder DVD ist nach der Fertigung mit chemischen Trennmitteln bedeckt. Und sie trägt elektronische Ladungen auf ihrer Oberfläche. Beides muss eine gewisse Auswirkung auf den abtastenden Laserstrahl haben. Nun stellt sich lediglich noch die Frage, ob diese Auswirkungen hörbar sein können. Da es kein besseres Instrument als unser Ohr gibt, um dies festzustellen, bleibt nichts Vernünftigeres, als den möglichen Effekten gehörmäßig nachzugehen.

Das Ergebnis hat mich hoch erstaunt. Rasch war die Sorge verflogen, dass ich dem Leser hauchdünne, kaum nachvollziehbare Qualitätsunterschiede beim Abhören der CD mit und ohne Spray vermitteln müsste. Nein, der Vergleich - zuerst Patricia Barber ohne, dann mit Spray - machte absolut sicher: Hier geht es nicht um Voodoo. [...] Soll niemand sagen, dass sich das Hantieren mit diesem CD-Cleaner nicht auszahlt!
