This is a special version of the Supreme³ designed specifically for use in fuseholders in control panels. It uses a black ceramic body. The fuse thread and end caps are made from a silver-copper alloy. The end caps are also 24 carat gold plated. Bernd Ahne of HiFi-Tuning recommends having a suitable fuse holder installed by a qualified electrician. The sonic improvements are clearly audible.
An improved version of this fuse has been supplied since April 2020. This uses a fuse thread made primarily from Grade 1 Cardas copper, which required a redesign of the manufacturing process at the supplier. On the packaging you can read Rev. 2.0. The sound is slightly better than the previous version.
The Supreme³ - 10.3 -38 mm - silver/copper is mainly used in the 16A version.
The term "automatic fuse" is a bit misleading, because an automatic does not have a fuse built into the case, but a fuse holder which can also be built into the case.
HiFi-Tuning tests these fuses for safety according to the international safety standard UL248.
